By Chris, June 9 2009 British independent radio giant TalkSport are claiming that a deal has been struck that will see Carlos Tevez sign for Manchester City. The South American's future has been in doubt for a long while - but radio reports claim that Tevez's move to Eastlands will be confirmed within days.
Revelations about Liverpool's precarious financial position ruled the Anfield club out of the running earlier this week; with claims that Tevez wanted to remain in England suggesting the race for the Argentinean's signature became a two horse race between United and their fierce cross-city rivals.
Reds legend Sparky Hughes, now manager at City, has already admitted his interest in signing Tevez and negotiations with Media Sports Investments founder Kia Joorabchian have been intense between all parties.
Tevez's future has been in doubt for sometime with United unwilling to fork out a further £22million to MSI after the forward's two-year loan stint at Old Trafford came to an end.
Money, however, is little option to City following investment from Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Khaldoon As Mubarak. Having already splashed out £12million on Gareth Barry, TalkSport allege that a deal has been sealed that will see Tevez make a controversial switch from the league champions to 33-years without a trophy club City.
Tevez is currently on international duty for Diego Maradona's Argentina. The diminutive striker is rumoured to have sought the former Napoli star's advice on his future and an official announcement can be expected after the White and Sky Blues do battle with Venezuela on Wednesday.

I think Tevez will leave and should leave. Manchester City are going to be a new force in the premiership and i think Uniteds squad is a bit over the hill to battle it out for the next 5 years. United proved this by only just winning the premiership this year. Liverpool basically threw it away. Anyway Fergies past it and wont be able to refuse £30 mil for Tevez.
Theres no way Citeh will ever overtake Man Utd, they may have all that money now, but when they start spending rediculous amounts on players and have little or nothing to show for it the sheik will become fed up and cut the mass spendin out, just like Abramovich has started to do
No superstar wants to join Man City, its proven because the likes of de Jong and Kompany are hardly world class, Bridge is englands second best LB with very little competition coming through and Gareth Barry again is hardly world class
They put a £100mil bid in for Kaka which the player rejected and opted for a £59mil move tor Real Madrid instead. . . probably sayin Citeh who? along the way
Just remember that TalkSport began life as TalkRadio which largely failed.
They were run by Kelvin MacKenzie (former Editor of The Sun)
Now if a United fan clicked through (dont waste your 50p) to the sports pages of that blagg-rag you would find stories that Chelsea had signed Maradona and Tony Book was set to replace Cappello as England boss.
