18th Title...!!

"Are you watching
Merseyside?" - 18 times!!
The Red Devils are champions again!
Prior to the game, there seemed to be few nerves in the air. Some stalls happily sound "18th title" badges and the mood was one of celebration rather than trepidation.
However, as Saturday's game wore on, nerves started to set in as United clung on for a stalemate to clinch the league championship.
The game was not a classic affair. Arsenal were probably the better side over the course of the ninety minutes but couldn't break down a United backline that has performed so brilliantly throughout the season.
Hearts were in the mouths of the United faithful as Arsenal squandered a close range free-kick and a corner at the death but the final whistle came after three agonisingly injury-time minutes and the Reds celebrated a third successive Premier League crown.
The scenes after the full-time whistle were simply superb. I wasn't a huge fan of the bizarrely long wait for the players to return to the pitch as stewards erected a Barclay logo-laden play pen for the journalists; and the decision to play clips of United's recent 3-1 win at Arsenal over and over again was a bit of a piss take to few hundred Gooners who graciously stayed after the whistle to witness the celebrations. But it doesn't matter. United have done it again.
It was superb to see the players win the trophy at Old Trafford for only the second time and the supporters revelled in the grand occasion. In April 1993, Liverpool had won 18 league titles and United had won seven. We've now caught them up.
Sir Alex Ferguson's post-match speech was drowned out slightly by calls from the Scoreboard End to "Sign Tevez Up"; but the Scotsman gave his usual rousing message and promised to bring the European Cup home as United head to Italy to do battle with Barcelona. Via Hull, of course.
A great day. Well done
Reds.
Manchester
United - champions again.
Now, can United secure an incredible Quadruple in Rome?

After you stating "Arsenal were probably better over the 90 minutes" .....Amazing how quickly they grow from "boys to men", all in the space of a couple of weeks.... Evra is a muppet!!
