Saha keen on Old Trafford stay

Still a Red Devil
By Chris, June 27 2008
United forward Louis Saha has slammed reports that he has no future at the club. The Frenchman is expected to leave Old Trafford for pastures new this summer – but Saha is adamant that he wants to stay and battle it out for first-team honours with the European champions. Arsenal, Roma and West Ham are just two of the clubs linked with the player's services.

Bolton Wanderers and Fulham are other names reportedly interest in signing the out-of-favour striker.

However, Saha has no desire to leave Old Trafford and has told sources in France that he is working hard to battle it out for a place in Sir Alex Ferguson's starting line-up next season.

Speaking to ‘France Football', the 29-year-old said: "I have worked all summer long. There were facilities close to my home so I have worked with a specific program. I know what I want - to be fit for resumption.

"I am under contract at Manchester until 2010. Moreover the coach didn't say anything to me yet, neither about a transfer or a loan."

Saha did manage 24 appearances last season despite an injury-ravaged campaign - and he netted five times in the process.

However, his performances were less than convincing and the player will have to be on top form during pre-season training if he wishes to remain a Red Devil.
