Fergie nets LMA award

LMA's top man
By Chris, May 13 2008
Sir Alex Ferguson has picked up the LMA ‘Manager of the Year’ award for the second time after leading the Red Devils to a seventeenth league championship. The award is voted for by all members of the League Manager’s Association – taking into account the opinion of all 92 Premier League and Football League managers.

"It is a tremendous honour that my fellow managers and LMA members should deem me worthy of this award. I am very proud to receive it." said Sir Alex.

The Scotsman last won the award in 1999 after guiding United to success in the league, F.A Cup and in Europe. He takes the award from Reading's Steve Coppell - who had won it in 2006 and 2007.

Fergie has already picked up the Premier League's top manager award - but would surely swap all of is gongs for a win in Moscow on May 21st.
