Revenge time for United?
May 21st - Manchester United v. Chelsea
European Cup Final, Moscow
Avram Grant has taken unfair amounts of abuse from Chelsea fans and the media all season; and yet he has achieved something that their beloved Jose Mournho did not manage - leading the Londoners into the final of the European Cup.
Sir Alex Ferguson will now lock horns with Grant for the third time this season in one of the biggest games in the history of English football. By May 21st, we will also know which of the two managers came up trumps in the race for the Premier League crown.
Chelsea booked their ticket to the final following a hard-fought win against the Scousers. Didier Drogba opened the scoring on 33 minutes; before Fernando Torres levelled after half-time to take the tie into an added thirty minutes.
Frank Lampard then scored an emotional penalty - just days after the death of his mother - to edge Chelsea back in front. Drogba's second on 105 minutes then seemed to clinch the tie.
However, Liverpool kept fighting and substitute Ryan Babel made it 4-3 on aggregate with just three minutes of extra-time to play. Another Scouse goal would have sent them through courtesy of the away-goals rule - but Chelsea held on for one of the most important and famous wins of their illustrious history.
Bring on Chelsea!
The game is simply huge!
