We told you so: Wigan point puts United on verge!

EH nets equaliser
By Chris, April 14 2008
Never has Salford been so in love with Emile Heskey! England’s hardworking carthorse bundled home a last-gasp equaliser at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea failed to beat the Latics on their own turf. The result means United are five points clear at the top of the table with our West London rivals travelling to Everton on Thursday evening. It’s well and truly in our own hands now.

Heskey fired a crisp volley passed Peter Cech in the dieing seconds of injury-time as he turned home a beautiful cross from Welsh midfielder Jason Koumas.

Wigan's Chris Kirkland had been on superb form between the sticks before Michael Essien broke the deadlock just before the hour-mark.

However, the Lancashire side fought back as Chelsea dropped points at home for the first time since February 10th.

We hope you all took our top tip of backing the draw @ 5/1. The champagne's certainly on ice here at ManUtdWeb Towers!

Cheers Emile! Cheers Steve Bruce!
