Chelski face crucial week in title race

Unhappy memories
By Chris, April 14 2008
Chelsea face a definitive week as the race for the Premier League approaches its climax. Avram Grant’s Blues are the only challenges left for United and they cannot afford to slip-up as they entertain Wigan Athletic and travel to Everton in a gruelling four days of action. Defeat at Stamford Bridge or Goodison Park will leave the Red Devils in a hugely dominant position.

We, at ManUtdWeb Towers, think Wigan could get something at Stamford Bridge. Prices are as high as 25/1 for an away win, whilst the draw is worth a punt at 5/1.

Chelsea then travel to Everton on Thursday evening. David Moyes' side are desperate to keep on the toes of fourth-placed Liverpool and will undoubtedly pose a difficult test for the League Cup runners-up.

Chelsea have spoke our in fury about their week's schedule and claim that moving the game at Everton for television coverage has damaged the integrity of the league competition. It seems the excuses are already starting in a week which could well see the Blues lose pace.

The West Londoners need a minimum of four points, most probably six, if they are to stand a realistic chance of winning back the league championship crown. Meanwhile, Manchester United's next clash is a tricky away derby date at Blackburn Rovers.
