Calm Down!
Sir Alex Ferguson is hoping to welcome back Edwin van der Sar but Rio Ferdinand looks set to remain sidelined with a back injury. The United boss is expected to welcome back the likes of Michael Carrick and Wayne Rooney after ringing the changes for Wednesday's hard-fought 2-0 win at home to Bolton.
The Scousers have no fresh injury concerns and head into the game on a rich vein of form. They've won seven on the bounce since being dumped out of the F.A Cup by Barnsley; and will be full of confidence for Sunday's derby. Beardy-chops Rafa Benitez, however, is a little too confident and declared during the week that his side, eleven points behind United, can still win the league this season. Madness.
United, however, are also on excellent form and will claim a fifth straight league win of they can overcome their fiercest rivals. Fergie is hopeful: "The Liverpool game brings out a certain anticipation in players. It's a game all the players want to play in. You can't avoid the intensity of it - the tension, the atmosphere. We hope we can continue our form and get the result we want."
Three points for United would secure a memorable 'double' over the Scousers this season and would put us in an awesome position to retain the league title. However, the Mickeys are on a good run of form and will be desperate to avenge December's match at Anfield.
Come on United! ![]()
