Portland Timbers 2 Vancouver Whitecaps 3
By Kurt Schubothe
June 12 2005
The Portland Timbers come roaring back after being 2 goals down at half time. Getting their first goal with 10 minutes to go in the match.
In one of the best games of the season the Portland Timbers came very close on going away from Vancouver with a point. That did not happen as Vancouver put the match away grabbing all 3 points.

The scoring started as Portlands Aaron Heinzen took down Vancouver's Alfredo Valente in then 39th minute in the box. Valente scored fron the spot.

A minute later Vancouver's Martin Nash scored on a hard low shot past keeper Josh Saunders.

The Timbers did not get it going until the 78 minute when Dan Antonuik found Tom Poltl who scored his second goal of the season. This seemed to put a fire under the Timbers as Edwin Miranda put his strike into the net netting the match a 2-2 2 minutes into stoppage time.

Vancouver made the Timbers pay when Steve Klien scored the game winner just 25 seconds later.

Next match Thursday June 16th as Puerto Rico comes to PGE Park
