The Portland Timbers come on strong in the second half to send the Toronto Linx, who made their first visit to PGE Park backhome with no points.

Timbers win their home opener 3-0 over the Toronto Linx.

The first goal of the match at the 50 minute of play was an own goal as as defender Neils Dekker of the Linkx failed to clear a Brian Winters pass and placed it pass his keeper instead. Brian got credit for the goal which was his first goal for the Timbers after 4 seasons. The Timbers second goal was scored by Edwin Miranda off a nice cross by Hugo Alcaraz-Cuellar in the 59th minute. Byron Alvarez headed a cross by Memo Arzate in the 8oth minute.
