May 15 2004
The Timbers put on another strong showing as the get two goals on Calgary and give up one to put the lads in first place on the table early in this 2004 season.
May 14th

The Timbers get a goal from Byron Alvarez on a header off a cross by Hugo Alcaraz in the 25 minute of play. Once again the Timbers looked strong on the attack with Alex Bengard controlling the middle of the pitch. Calgary had their hands full trying to guard Byron as he worked his magic getting close on many more chances. Calgary pulled one goal back and the Timbers had a lasp on the defence letting Conrard Smith loose for a goal. The second half belonged to the Timbers as the Timbers Army man of the match Alex Bengard scored  just after half-time in the 50th minute of play. A strong showing by the Timbers as they go up to Seattle Saturday.
