A link between Halifax Town and Portland
Over the Pond is a link formed between the supporters of Halifax Town in England, and Portland Timbers in the USA.
Why has this link been made?
In the 2003 season Sean McAuley of the Timbers left Portland to join Halifax Town as a player and assistant coach. Thus a bond was formed. Sean has moved on to another club but it is our hope this bond will be rekindled as some fans pay a visit to Halifax Town
The Suporters of The North American United Soccer Leagues' First Division and the English Premiership with both a football club and competition to follow during their respective off-seasons.
What other benefits may there be from the link?
It could open up a whole range of new ideas and initiatives such as marketing and merchandise for both clubs. As well as passing time during the boring months between seasons.
