ANDY REID URGES FOREST TO GIVE HARFORD THE JOB

Andy Reid has urged the Nottingham Forest board to give Harford the job...

Nottingham Forest star player Andy Reid has urged the club's board to give acting manager Mick Harford the post of manager on a permanent basis. Harford has been left in charge ever since Joe Kinnear's overdue departure and has so-far only taken charge of one game.

Harford is a proven manager and has done spectacular things with Luton Town. When he left Luton for The City Ground his former club were riding high at the top of the table.

The Republic of Ireland star told the official Nottingham Forest website: "I've no doubts about it - I think Mick is the man for the job. He has the ability and he has the character to do the job.

"He's a strong character and at a time like this that's what you need. The Club could do far worse than giving him the job full time.

"He's a good coach. He knows who he wants at the football club, he knows who he doesn't want and he knows who he wants to bring in."
