Kinnear has already proved himself to be extremely shrewd in the transfer market with such bargain buys as Paul Evans working out so well, therefore it will delight most Forest fans to hear that Joe is looking to add to his tally of five players this season. Kinnear is reported to be looking at several more players, and hopes to bring in another two. So far Alan Rogers, Andy Impey, Kevin James, Paul Gerrard and Kris Commons have all arrived on the banks of the Trent to sport the Garibaldi, and despite the departure of Gareth Williams, to local rivals Leicester City, the squad is looking fairly strong. More hope can be gained from squad depth, which brings competition for places, and which in turn brings better performances. Joe Kinnear now has just over a month to bring in any more players before the start of the re-branded Football League Championship. Forest will kick off what we all hope will be a very successful campaign on the 7th of August away at the JJB Stadium, against Wigan, whom they played their final home match against last season. And if David Johnson retains the form he ended last season with there's no reason Forest should not be able to produce a similar result again. The competition for places will no doubt drive on our heroes. And if Joe Kinnear gets his way there just might be soem new players taking to the field too. |
