Just like building a new team from scratch, Using Brian Rice, Kenny Black and Owen Coyle as assistants so another challenge comes his way in finding a new assistant and building a team that will push for high finish in the first Division next season.
Three or four weeks ago I would have expected to go and watch this match and be completely bored out of my skull, matches against St Johnstone have not been the most appealing this season but the arrival of Owen Coyle could add the atmosphere as his players will be trying to impress their new boss. Sandy will be out to show the Airdrie support that he is the man in charge and put Owen in his place.
As usual though Sandy goes in to the match with injuries in his team. Kevin Christie is out with a groin injury, Mark Roberts with a Ham string injury and doubtful for this match Willie McLaren who has been suffering from a viral infection all week.
Do we need to win this one? Of course we do even if it is just for a little bit of pride in the Diamond we need to see the team performing

St Johnstone manager Owen Coyle comes in to this game with a few injuries to contend with Kevin Fotheringham, Paul Bernard and Kevin Rutkiwicz are all sidelined for the Perth side through injury.
Owen has now been in charge of St Johnstone for five days can a team who has played the most un appealing football in the first division change in as short a period of time? We will see today. Every one at St Johnstone will be looking to impress Owen in order to be a part of the team for the end of this season and to continue in to next.
Like everyone else I would like to wish Owen Coyle all the best at St Johnstone until of course he comes up against the Diamonds. |
