AS Airdrie 6-0 Forest

Airdrie put a further 3 points on the boar to move up to 5th in the SSML premier Division. Airdrie put the visitors under pressure from the start and had as series of chances early on Brady’s header off the bar and Gray’s strike off the base of the post both coming close. Kenny Pardoe broke the deadlock after 35 minutes with a wonderful strike form 25 yards picking up the ball and putting it beyond the goalkeepers reach in off the woodwork. The goalkeeper denied a second after Clark went clear, his attempted chip was beaten away and Gray followed up to knock the ball home, bizarrely though this was ruled offside, Gray deemed to be offside even though he was behind Clark! This just served to fire Gray on and just short of half time he created a second, Driving into the box past his marker hitting a low shot across the keeper who managed to get a fingertip to it but Brady was on hand to tap home from close range for a 2-0 half time lead. Second half was again one way traffic and Shaw carved Forest open to set up the third, gliding past four men before cutting back from the goal line Gray was on hand to drill a left foot finish low past the goalkeeper. Kenny Pardoe struck the 4th, using a packed penalty area he curled the ball into the bottom left corner from 20 yards leaving the keeper rooted to the spot. The 5th was as strange as they come, Lindsay chased a through ball in to the box and between them defender and keeper kept it out, the ball was left sitting on the ground just inside the box, the away players assuming some sort of decision had been given by the referee, Clark simply ran up took the ball off them and rolled it over the line! Andy Edgar put the gloss on the game when he headed home Clarks throw in late in the game. A good win after a run of narrow defeats and two draws helps Airdrie up into the top half of the table, Shaw Kenny Pardoe and Edgar all having fine games but Gray was pick of the bunch with a hard working performance capped off with a deserved goal RowanGraham Edgar N.PardoeMcCall Lindsay K.Pardoe ShawBrady Clark Gray Smith for Brady (65)M.Brown for Lindsay
