By Stomp Admin April 12 2009 Airdrie managed to do something away from home that they couldn't do at home last week, hold on to a 1-0 lead and claim all three points in our battle for survival. It was Simon Lynch who gave us the goal on 18 minutes and the team that gave us the much needed three points.
Some times you go to matches not sure what to expect, you hope for a win but would be happy just not to get beat, yesterday I went to the match hoping for a draw at best and came away more then satisfied.
With Robertson suffering from back spasms it was left to Lee Hollis to claim the number one shirt for only the second time this season, always a worry when you hear the teams being read out. However just like the Dunfermline game earlier in the season Lee held up his end and had an excellent game.
To be honest the match wasn't much to write home about, neither team had many goal scoring opportunities as the play was broken up by the hard working midfield and defence.
Our game came after a cross ball wasn't cleared by the Dundee defence, it fell to Lynch who rattled home from 8 yards.
That was it, three points in the bag well it was after we survived another 72 minutes of nail biting action.
it was a great result .hollis saved us a few times in the second half and wee logie baird had a great game .i thought dundee were a bit dirty wihh some of there tackles and at lest one should have been sent off , the ref was very faverable on dundee .rhe second half it was backs to the wall yet we missed two chanches then when kenny took off jacko and put on mc donald you knewe that we would have to defend that one goal lead .that is my opinon of the game . how did you see it.
