I certainly think Airdrie will get past either of those two.

I wish we had been had been drawn away though - the crowd for that game could be even less than for the Cove Rangers tie!

We would all like to believe that we should make the next round and we are all aware that we should not expect a large travelling support so what can the club do to encourage a good turnout to a game that might not generate a lot of interest, any ideas ? what if all that turn up receive a voucher or coupon for a discount towards the next round if we are drawn at home regardless of who we get to play. Just a thought any other ideas ??????

Not a big money earner, you would think, but can't complain too much. We can't EXPECT to go through, although we won't be classed as underdogs (I hope!).

You can't give a voucher for the next round. Of course we should be expecting to win but that kind of thing is just disrespectful and will only end in us getting embarassed.

Another diddy team... another adjunctive payment over and above my season ticket. Is it not time to take stock and let season ticket holders use their book for poor fixtures like this?

Two points to make here -

(1) We ARE pretty much one of the diddy teams these days, given our current position and that in the last couple of seasons.

(2) Yes, maybe the club should be going back to allowing one home Scottish Cup game being included in the season ticket price, as was the case in the first few seasons. It can't do any harm and we could still add a few more who pay at the the gate - can't lose too much that way, can we?

Decent draw from the point of view of progressing, we should progress.

Financially not good.

Take ir as read that none of those two clubs are going to bring many so what to do.

The game is early January if on. If the club decide to try anything - reduce entrance fees, possible parent/child rate - and I think they have to (regardless of Saturday) as not many will fancy paying £15 to watch Elgin or Spartans, then it MUST be backed by an advertisng campaign.

Posters in local pubs and shops. Advertisments in local press and radio (highlighting the cost of entry)

I don't see what all the doom & gloom is about. We have a very good chance of making the later stages of the Scottish Cup.

Although as Mr Clean says IF the club are going to reduce the prices they have to announce it soon and properly advertise it.

I spoke to a couple of folk at the game on Saturday & in the stadium bar before hand who didn't know the admission price was going to been reduced. So if the people who are actually going to the games didn't know about it what chance is there that any part time supporters would have been encouraged to go to the game?

i think it might be difficult to reduce prices as this has to be agreed by both clubs as the gate is halfed in a cup game

If we're in such dire financial straits, wouldn't it make more sense to build a side that can compete at the top end of the league instead of the bottom?

Only way to get bums on seats, stay in cups long enough to land the plum ties, etc., is to have a team on the park to do so.

I'd have preferred an instant 3rd round pay day too, but will take the bye into the fifth round.

Success & good draws in the cup are fine.

However the most important thing is league form & this just now is desparate. Give me three points or even a goal in the league....

we are not the only club who are having difficulty in getting fans through the gate , it was reported that at the tattiedome on saturday they were as many as 12,000 empty seats.

And Clyde had barely over 600 at their game.

Obviously it is anticipated that there will not be a very high attendance at this match but is it not also the case that for every bit further we go, we get more money so what we may lose in a lower attendance may be made up for - partially at least- by a bigger pay out for qualifying for the next round?...if we DO qualify, of course!
