Airdrie Vs Clyde Preview 20/09/08
By Stomp Admin September 20 2008
Airdrie host Clyde in todays Irn Bru first division match, it's the Bully Wee's first visit to us since the 2007 - 2008 play off finals where the put us to the sword and left us languishing in the second division. Today's match is a chance for a bit of pay back! Do professional footballers see things in the same way or is it just fans who hold grudges?

Today's game is important on many levels, we could go top of the league depending on other results, we could open a six point gap between us and the teams below us, we could just simply get some pay back for our defeat in the playoffs, any or all would be nice.

There is conflicting reports this week concerning the fitness of Matt Hazely, the Advertiser said he is still struggling with a back injury and the BBC website says we have no injury worries ahead of todays match. On the official website Kenny as usual is playing his cards close to his chest, he simply doesn't like giving anything away. So, Matt Hazely to be given a late fitness test and Joe Cardle should make a return to todays squad.

Clyde manager John Brown, has up to five players out of action Stuart Kettlewell and Paul Emslie are both doubtful. Midfielders Marvyn Wilson and Willie McLaren, plus striker Marc McCusker, are long term injury concerns.

Clyde welcome back central defender Mark Brown.
