Airdrie Vs Livingston
By Stomp Admin September 12 2008
A couple of changes were made to the team when we took on Cowdenbeath in the challenge cup, Paul Lovering replaced Matt Hazely at left back and Scott McLaughlin held on to the left wing position due to Joe Cardle’s damaged knee. We progressed in to the semi finals thanks to two goals in the second half from Paul Di-Giacomo. Which brings us back to this weekends league match vs. Livingston.

Having looked back over our matches versus Livingston it seems goals can be fore cast , in the six games we have played at Almondvale there has been twenty five goals scored so anyone taking 0 - 0 in the prediction league be warned!

Reading some of the reports in the news papers it seems Kenny Black is trying to keep our start to the season low key, yes we’ve done alright but it doesn’t have to been boom or bust and keeping things steady this early in the season is the way to go. Those “negative Nigel’s” are still hanging around waiting for the first opportunity to put the knife in. But while they’re silent we can concentrate on the football and so far so good.

Kenny will be without Joe Cardle for tomorrow’s match, he’s recovering from the knee injury inflicted upon him by Alan McManus during our win over Morton. Matt Hazely will be given a late fitness test before tomorrows game. Announced today Kevin Watt has gone on a months loan to local rivals Albion Rovers where he should get first team football.

Livingston manager Roberto Landi has a couple of worries ahead of tomorrow’s match team captain James McPake, Leigh Griffiths and Dave Mackay may all miss tomorrow’s match.

think you're about right there Chris, hopefully a full squad again to choose from. Whether Cardle is fit or not I thought McLaughlin playing against Morton gave us a better mix in midfield, we really only need the one winger with Hazely bombing up and down the left.

Memories of the Archibald game up at Livingston are still vivid, that goal from Calderon will live on forever, and we had such a fun day out at that game that nothing that happens up there can live up to that magical game.
