North West rivals Stalybridge Celtic more than made up for their defeat at Hilton Park earlier in the season with a 6-1 trouncing that plunges RMI deep in to the relegation mire. If there was any doubt that RMI's mini-revival had ended with defeats against Lancaster and Droylsden in the past ten days, then those questions were dispelled as Stalybridge got revenge in a big way for their heart-stopping defeat at Hilton Park earlier in the season.

Stalybridge led the last meeting between the sides for a long period until goals from Chis Simm and Andy Roscoe in stoppage time gave RMI a dramatic victory in the early stages of the campaign, and Celtic were out for a revenge after feeling mightility aggrieved at that particular result.

The revenge mission began almost immediately when the home side took the lead within the first nine minutes of the game, but they were pegged back ten minutes later when RMI midfielder Scott Willis continued his recent hot streak of goalscoring form to equalise with nineteen minutes on the clock.

Stalybridge re-took the lead eight minutes before half time to leave them 2-1 up at the break.

The second half saw the goals quickly fly in, with Stalybridge comfortable 4-1 leaders within twelve minutes of the second half before two further strikes completed the rout to give Andy Nelson something to think about ahead of Tuesday night's clash at home to FA Cup heroes Nuneaton Borough.
