Leigh Genesis vs Prescot Cables preview

By Matt Lawton
March 7 2011

Tuesday evening sees Leigh Genesis begin a vital period of fixtures when local rivals Prescot Cables are the visitors to Crilly Park for what is the first of five consecutive home games for Alan Kershaw's Genesis side.

Having kept a clean sheet in their past two games with draws against Lancaster City and Cammell Laird, Kershaw is likely to keep faith in as much of the side as possible that have now gone three hours without conceding a goal, with only Nathan McDonald a likely injury absentee.

Visitors Prescot, who are likely to include ex-Leigh defenders James Bell and Tony Rendell in their line up, have enjoyed a revival in recent weeks with a 2-2 draw at home to Trafford on Saturday preceeded by a 2-1 win away to Mossley while Cables ran out 4-0 victors when they sides met last month.

Kick off at Crilly Park is at 7.45pm on Tuesday (8th March) with admission costing £7 for adults, £5 for over 65's and students and just £2 for under 18's. For those unable to attend, live updates will be available at twitter.com/leighgenesisfc
