By Matt Lawton June 25 2009 It has been confirmed on the club's official website that General Manager Mary Croasdale has decided to step down from her role at Leigh Genesis after 18 months with the club.
A statement on leighgenesis.com reads as follows;
"Mary has been involved with the club since January 2008 and in recent times, with others, has been at the sharp end of the club's fight for survival, negotiating with the Unibond Board to be allowed time to sort matters out, and that given time the club would develop into the formidable force it now is. It is due to these efforts that we were in a position to be rescued, and that the new investors had a viable organisation in place ready for re-launch.
The main disappointment is that after all the hard work; she will not be around in an official capacity to enjoy the inevitable success her efforts deserve.
The Board want to place on record their appreciation for all she did and sincerely trust you will join us in wishing her good fortune. She knows that she is always welcome at the club.
Donna Middleton will remain at the club in a full time capacity as Club Secretary and Administrator."
On behalf of the club's supporters, I'd like to go on record to thank Mary for all her blood, sweat and tears that have gone in to the tremendous amount of work she has done for the club, a club that may not have survived without her determination and loyalty.
Also, on a personal level for putting up with the almost daily pestering from myself for any scraps of news from the club, whilst also being the first to turn up to LGSA meetings on behalf of the club or simply being a friendly face on a matchday, who will be more than welcome on the terraces, and undoubtedly in the boardroom, in years to come.
Mary was a sterling worker under vast amounts of pressure.
I doubt I can sum up in a few words what she did for the club, her enthusiasm was a lesson for us all.
Donna is equally as strong minded and singularly focussed on making the club a better place for fans, visiting teams and officials.
Thanks Mary, I hope your future is safe and you have fun doing whatever it is you do.
Thank you for all your dedicated hard work that you have done for the club mary and i hope to see you on the terraces cheering gary and the lads on. Good luck for the future!
On the official site, it says Mary is back doing P.R on the club officials page?? Hope so as we need more publicity and even getting the souvenirs page back up to get the extra revenue in??
