Strong finish for the Reserves

Three wins in five days saw Leigh Genesis Reserves finish their season on a high and secure second place in the Lancashire Football League behind champions Fleetwood Town, ahead of the reserve sides of Blue Square Premier outfit Barrow and Blue Square North clubs Workington and Burscough.

Three wins in five days saw Leigh Genesis Reserves finish their season on a high and secure second place in the Lancashire Football League behind champions Fleetwood Town, ahead of the reserve sides of Blue Square Premier outfit Barrow and Blue Square North clubs Workington and Burscough.
Chris Dykes hit the winner in a 1-0 win at Clitheroe, while Steve Settle captained Leigh to an 8-2 win at Salford City before goals from Dale Whitham and Sam Parkinson sealed a 2-1 win at Chorley in the final game of the season.
A huge congratulations to the Genesis Reserve side on a terrific season, and hopeful they will continue to provide a conveyor belt for the number of players progressing to the first team as they have during the past year.

Went to a few at the start of the season, but they seemed to get moved at short notice as the season wore on.
