Travelling by public transport

Leigh bus station is situated approximately 10 minute walk from the Leigh Sports Village Stadium. Upon leaving the bus station (with the Leigh Arms pub facing you), turn left towards the Avacab taxi office, crossing Spinning Jenny Way and cross the canal bridge. Take the second turning on your right hand side at the Britannia pub on to Etherstone Street and follow this road round where the stadium will eventually come in to view.

The nearest train stations are in Atherton and Daisy Hill, both approximately four miles from the stadium with regular rail services from Manchester and Wigan Wallgate. If travelling to Atherton, the 582 bus service runs past the station at regular intervals (every ten minutes or better) and takes you to Leigh bus station, while the 615 service runs hourly past Daisy Hill station, again terminating at Leigh bus station.

Wigan North Western station is situated on the West Coast Main Line and again is linked to Leigh by regular bus services. Wigan Wallgate station is situated opposite North Western station and is served by regular trains from Southport and Manchester Victoria. Turn right out of North Western station (or turn left if travelling from Wigan Wallgate), turning left at the traffic lights to walk down King St. West to the nearest bus stop. From this stop (outside the Number Fifteen pub) catch the 658 service to Leigh & Higher Folds for the half hour journey to Leigh bus station.

If travelling to Bolton, it is a five minute walk from the train station to Moor Lane bus station, where you will need to board the 582 bus service to Leigh bus station. Regular bus services are also available to Leigh bus station from Manchester (X34 and 26), Warrington (19 and 28A) and also St. Helens.
