FA Cup opponents confirmed

By Matt Lawton August 30 2008
Leigh Genesis will travel to UniBond League Division One North side Curzon Ashton in the First Qualifying Round of the FA Cup after the Tameside club were 4-0 victors at home to Runcorn Linnets in this afternoon's final preliminary round of the competition.

The tie will be played at Curzon's Tameside Stadium home in Ashton-under-Lyne on Saturday 13th September with a 3pm kick off.

It is the first time that Leigh have played at this stage of the competition since Lee Cryer's goal secured a 1-0 victory over Accrington Stanley, at the time in the lower reaches of the non-league pyramid, at Hilton Park in September 1997.

Never been to Curzon's new ground so hopefully another one to tick off, should I manage to get the day off work!

Got a feeling there's a bit of an ex-RMI contingent at Curzon though I could be wrong.
