With Worksop suffering complications at their Babbage Way ground, the Tigers find themselves ground sharing at Watnall Road this season, a ground that will be more than familiar to Leigh supporters after several memorable Conference North tussles with Worksop's landlords in recent seasons.
The trip to Hucknall five months ago saw Leigh concede two goals inside the opening period of the game, going on to lose 3-0 although Leythers may care to instead concentrate on a terrific 3-1 win over Hucknall in March 2007 in a season that ironically ended with Worksop being relegated to the UniBond League after Leigh defeated them 2-1 at Hilton Park on the final day of the season.
While three of Worksop's side still remain from that day, the recent release of Andy Heald to Radcliffe Borough removes any on-field link to Stuart Humphreys' class of 2006/07 that secured Conference North safety.
Watnall Road is best reached from Leigh via the M61, M62 and then junction 27 of the M1, from which point the A608 and then A611 lead straight to the ground.
While Genesis have had a mixed start to the season with two wins and two defeats from the opening four games, Worksop have had a true Jekyll & Hyde start, an impressive 1-1 draw with Eastwood Town on their Watnall Road debut being preceeded by disastrous 6-2 defeat to Marine, the mood deepened by a 4-0 home loss to Nantwich Town before a complete turnaround in form saw them become the first side to deny Bradford Park Avenue maximum points just 48 hours later, returning from Horsfall Stadium with a 1-1 draw.
Leigh Genesis manager Steve Bleasdale has received a triple boost ahead of the fixture with defenders Andrew Teague and Rob Marsh-Evans both likely to return from injury, while midfielder Tom Field is in line to make his Leigh debut after serving a four match suspension that had been carried over from his spell with Vauxhall Motors last season.
Kick off is at 3pm at Watnall Road - get yourself down to Nottinghamshire and get behind the lads.
