Steve Settle's in at Witton Albion

Steve Settle
By Matt Lawton June 25 2008
Leigh wingman Steve Settle, a cult hero on the Hilton Park terraces for the past two years, has left the club to join fellow UniBond Premier League side Witton Albion in search of first team football, after finding his opportunies limited towards the end of last season.

The popular right winger, who scored four goals in thirty five appearances last season, will find himself lining alongside former Leigh team mate Scott Willis at Wincham Park after deciding to move to the Cheshire outfit after two years of sterling service at Leigh.

Settle, who became a keen Leigh supporter during his time with the club, joined from local North West Counties League side Atherton Laburnum Rovers and went on to make himself a crowd favourite with his hardworking and never-say-die attitude.

He joins an ever-growing list of ex-Leigh players in the UniBond Premier League and, like Willis, is sure to receive a warm reception when they return to Leigh with their new employers.

On behalf of all of the Leigh supporters, I would like to thank Steve for his hard work and dedication in his time with the club and wish him the very best of luck at Witton.
