Matt Henney's goal was enough to earn victory for the Bluebirds, capping a tremendous run of form that saw them climb from the lower half of the table at the New Year to become the league's form side by the business end of the season.
In other news, Altrincham are likely to be spared relegation to the Blue Square North for the third season in a row following Halifax Town's demise in to the liquidation.
Should the Shaymen receive the correct rescue package by a certain deadline, they will avoid having to start again in the North East Counties League and instead join RMI in the UniBond Premier League next season, a move which would spare Hucknall Town relegation after they finished in twentieth spot in the Blue Square North.
