Transfer activity for busy RMI

By Matt Lawton March 28 2008
Leigh RMI manager Steve Bleasdale has been busy in the transfer market, keeping Blackpool defender Matt Lawlor at Hilton Park on a loan deal until the end of the season along with former Southport midfielder David Prout.

Young defender Matt Lawlor has been an impressive addition to the Leigh side after signing on loan from Championship side Blackpool earlier in the season, and it represents quite a coup for RMI that they have managed to secure his services until the end of the season in the face of deadline day competition from Blue Square Premier and League Two clubs.

Midfielder David Prout, meanwhile, who celebrated his twenty first birthday yesterday, joins the club on a loan deal until the end of the season from Blue Square North rivals Southport, having previously played for League Two side Bury and Prescot Cables.

Prout is in line to make his debut for tomorrow afternoon's vital Blue Square North visit to Hucknall Town.
