Hinckley United vs. Leigh RMI preview

By Matt Lawton March 6 2008
After the disappointment of Tuesday night’s exit from the Co-Operative Challenge Trophy with a 4-0 semi final defeat at Southport, RMI are back to league action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Leicestershire to face fellow strugglers Hinckley United at the Marston’s Stadium.
The sides last met on what seems to be such a long time ago on the opening day of the season when an RMI side barely recognisable from the current outfit drew 2-2 with the previous season's losing play-off finalists after goals from the long-since departed Dan Owen and Kevin Rapley.

Hinckley go in to the game on the back of a 3-0 defeat at promotion chasers AFC Telford United last Saturday, while their last home outing brought only a 3-0 defeat to Stalybridge Celtic.

Despite their poor recent form, Hinckley remain within touching distance of safety, with just three points separating them from fourth bottom Hucknall Town.

With centre back Rob Marsh-Evans missing the final game of a two match suspension picked up from his sending off in the defeat against Gainsborough, loan signing Matt Lawlor will continue to deputise alongside Luke Prosser in defence.

Last season's visit to the Marston's Stadium brought only a 3-1 defeat for RMI, despite being level at one point thanks to a Dan Owen equaliser.

Kick off at the Marston's Stadium is 3pm.
