Travelling to Hilton Park by train
There is no longer a train station situated in Leigh, but there are several train stations situated in neighbouring towns that can be reached by bus from Leigh.
The nearest train station to Leigh is Atherton, which has regular services running from both Wigan Wallgate and Manchester Victoria. Once you arrive at Atherton, cross over the main road that runs in front of the station entrance, and catch the 582 bus service that runs to Leigh from Bolton. Get off the bus at the Chadwick Street stop (immediately after the Kwik Fit garage), cross over the road and walk down Chadwick Street, which leads directly to Hilton Park.
Wigan North Western station is situated on the West Coast Main Line and again is linked to Leigh by regular bus services. Wigan Wallgate station is situated opposite North Western station and is served by regular trains from Southport and Manchester Victoria. Turn right out of North Western station (or turn left if travelling from Wigan Wallgate), turning left at the traffic lights to walk down King St. West to the nearest bus stop. From this stop (outside the Number Fifteen pub) catch the 658 service to Leigh & Higher Folds. It is a seven mile journey to Leigh on this bus but it does pass Hilton Park. Get off the bus at the Chadwick Street stop (immediately after the Kwik Fit garage), cross over the road and walk down Chadwick Street, which leads directly to Hilton Park.
It is also possible to travel to Hilton Park via bus from Bolton (using the 582 bus service), from Warrington (using the 19 and 28A bus services) and from Manchester Piccadilly Gardens (using the 26 and 12 bus services).
Travelling to Hilton Park by car
Come off M61 at Junction 5 (Westhoughton/Bolton, following the Westhoughton sign to the roundabout before picking up the signposts for Leigh. Keep on the main road to the traffic lights, at which point you turn left on to Leigh Road and carry on for about 3 miles (passing Daily Hill train station along the way) until you reach the traffic lights, with a pub on your right hand side. Turn left followed by the first right, leading you to the next set of traffic lights. Turn right onto Atherleigh Way (A579) and at the first set of traffic lights (with Asda on your right), turn left, passing B&Q and St. John's Infant School on your right-hand side. At the next set of traffic lights, turn right and follow the signs for Leigh town centre, passing the Texaco and Kwik Fit garages. Take the second right down Prescot Street (signposted Hilton Park) and continue up until the end of the street, before turning right and reaching the main club car park behind the Hilton Stand.
From M6 North:
Leave M6 at Junction 23 and head towards Manchester on the East Lancashire Road (A580). Turn off and follow the A579 (signposted Bolton and Pennington Flash) and continue along this road until you reach the ASDA superstore on your left hand side, turning right at the traffic lights and passing B&Q, following the signs for Hilton Park. At the next set of traffic lights, turn right and follow the signs for Leigh town centre, passing the Texaco and Kwik Fit garages. Take the second right down Prescot Street (signposted Hilton Park) and continue up until the end of the street, before turning right and reaching the main club car park behind the Hilton Stand.
From M6 South:
Leave M6 at junction 22 and follow Winwick Lane (A572) towards Leigh, before going on to the East Lancashire Road (A580) towards Manchester. Turn left left onto the A579 (signposted Bolton and Pennington Flash) and continue along this road until you reach the ASDA superstore on your left hand side, turning right at the traffic lights and passing B&Q, following the signs for Hilton Park. At the next set of traffic lights, turn right and follow the signs for Leigh town centre, passing the Texaco and Kwik Fit garages. Take the second right down Prescot Street (signposted Hilton Park) and continue up until the end of the street, before turning right and reaching the main club car park behind the Hilton Stand.
M1, M62, M60 (anti-clockwise): Leave the M60 at junction 14 for the A580 towards Liverpool, take the A579 (signposted Bolton and Pennington Flash) and continue along this road until you reach the ASDA superstore on your left hand side, turning right at the traffic lights and passing B&Q, following the signs for Hilton Park. At the next set of traffic lights, turn right and follow the signs for Leigh town centre, passing the Texaco and Kwik Fit garages. Take the second right down Prescot Street (signposted Hilton Park) and continue up until the end of the street, before turning right and reaching the main club car park behind the Hilton Stand.
Car parking
Car parking is provided on the club car park behind the Hilton Stand, but this is limited and as such street parking is also available in the surrounding area, along with the car parks on the B&Q superstore that is adjacent to Hilton Park or the Asda superstore across Atherleigh Way from the stadium, along with the provision of a multi-storey car park and several pay-and-display car parks in Leigh town centre.
