West Bromwich Albion's gaffer Steve Clarke insists his side are still brimming with confidence despite back to back league defeats.  West Brom entertain Premier League strugglers Southampton tomorrow, with both sides hoping for three points to boost recent form.

Albion go into tomorrow's fixture on the back of two league defeats against Manchester City and Newcastle United, but manager Steve Clarke reflects the views of fans in insisting his side were unlucky on both ocassions.

West Brom collected 14 points from their first seven Premier League games, so defeats are certainly not something Albion fans have been accustomed to.  But Clarke is confident that his side can return to winning ways at the Hawthorns tomorrow evening.  Of his players Clarke said; "We have told them that if they continue to play as they have against two really good teams, and as long as the performance levels stays the same, then the results will follow."

Of tomorrows opposition Clarke commented; "Southampton have had some good performances. I've seen them on a number of occasions this season".  He is also a big admirer of Saints boss Nigel Adkins, who has led the club to two successive promotions.

West Bromwich Albion Poll

Is Steve Clarke the right choice of manager for West Brom, or should the club have aimed for a higher profile manager based on finishing 10th last season?
