West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson and Wolves boss Mick McCarthy could go head to head this week in a battle to sign Preston North End goal keeper Andy Lonergan. Hodgson, who has England international Scott Carson and Myhill already at the Hawthorns could look to add Lonergan into the mix as extra competition.
But Wolverhampton Wanderers gaffer Mick McCarthy is believed to already be in a position to bid on Lonergan, with an offer believed to be around £1.2 million.
Wolves already have the highly rated Wayne Hennesey, but second keeper Marcus Hahnemann will depart from Molineux this summer on a free transfer, and Wolves look set to get a firm offer into the 27 year old Preston keeper later this week.
