Irvine
Albion first expressed an interest in the Preston North End boss a week ago. Despite the hands off statement issued by the Championship side, who made the play offs last season, Jeremy Peace has been undeterred in his quest to secure his services.
According to sources this morning, Irvine will officially be named the new boss of West Bromwich Albion later on today, after it is believed a deal between the two clubs has been reached. It is believed that a sum of £1 million has been agreed - a compensation payment which Preston will want up front. It is likely however that Peace will look to stagger the payment, leaving some dependant on performance and achievement.
