Speculation linking Albion left back Paul Robinson to Gary Megson's Bolton Wanderers side is nothing new to Baggies fans. But this time the link comes with the added extra of a transfer request handed in to Tony Mowbray by Robbo himself. He commented ‘I’ve got to the stage now where I can’t face playing in the Championship again, I feel I’ve proved myself in the Premier League'.

Controversial Robinson was dropped from his captaincy position at West Brom some years ago after questions about his loyalty to the club.   It was Bolton then, and it now appears that former Baggies boss Gary Megson is lining up a £1 million move to bring the defender to the Reebok Stadium.

Robinson added that he hoped all at the club would be 'sympathetic' to his situation.
