West Brom's Scott Carson has received a welcome boost as England manager Fabio Capello named him in his 24 man squad for next months World Cup qualifiers. Carson has missed the end of the season for Albion after suffering an injury which saw Dean Kiely recalled to the first team.

But Carson will be uplifted by the news that he is included in Capello's squad for next month, who restart their World Cup campaign against Kazakhstan on 6th June.

Carson joins Blackburn's Paul Robinson, and West Ham's Robert Green as named keepers.  David James misses out through injury.

Carson last appeared for England in November during England's 2-1 win over Germany in a friendly.
