Double injury blow adds to Mowbray's headache
By Jemma Tappenden September 23 2008
Tony Mowbray must already be wondering what he has to do to notch up some points in the Premiership. Albion's opening five fixtures have seen them collect just 4 points, which at present keeps them elevated from the dreaded drop zone, but puzzled over just what the need to do to start winning games.

Albion have performed consistently well at home in their three fixtures, yet bagged just one win, with another solid performance failing to take points from local rivals Villa at the weekend.

Now to add to Mowbray's headache, fresh injury concerns look set to cause selection problems until mid October, with the news that both Abdoulaye Meite and Chris Brunt face weeks out on the sidelines.

Both players look set to miss Albion's next two fixtures, against Middlesbrough and Fulham respectively, with neither player likely to returnn to action before the break for Internation duty in mid October.

Meite aggrivated a calf injury in Sunday's  pre match warm up, leaving Mowbray to call forward Leon Barnett from the bench to the starting line up, and Brunt, who was a first half casualty in the West Midlands derby looks certain to misx three to four weeks with a serious hamstring injury.
