West Brom v Aston Villa - Match preview

Luke Moore
By Jemma Tappenden September 20 2008
After picking up a first Premiership win against West Ham United last weekend, the Baggies will be looking to build on their recent good home fortunes with this weekends fixture against local rivals Aston Villa at the Hawthorns. Gaffer Tony Mowbray has challenged summer signing Luke Moore to make an impact against his old club if he makes the selection tomorrow lunchtime.

Mowbray has no fresh injury concerns, and infact will be boosted by the news that three of his recent injury concerns could be fit enough to face Villa tomorrow.

Striker Ishmael Miller looks set to return from his knee troubles, Abdoulaye Meite hopes to have recovered from his calf problem in time and Gianni Zuiverloon similarly hopes that his hamstring strain will have eased in time for Mowbray's selection process.

Long term injury hit Filipe Teixeria also hopes to make a come back for Albion over the next few weeks.

Villa boss O'Neill on the other hand has some minor concerns ahead of tomorrows clash, but Ashley Young and John Carew are likely to feature, whilst Curtis Davies should also be fit to face his former club.
