Keeper Scott Carson joins Mowbray's men
By Jemma Tappenden July 19 2008
West Bromwich Albion have secured the signing of Liverpool Goalkeeper Scott Carson. Thje 22 year old has set the club back £3.25 million, with that fee rising by an extra £500,000 if Carson secures a number of appearances. Carson had been expected to sign for Aston Villa, the club he spent last season on loan to, but that deal fell through a number of weeks ago.

Since that time a number of cluns had expressed an interest in securing the signature of the England International, including newly promoted rivals Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers.  But Carson agreed terms with West Brom and completed his move to the Midlands yesterday.

Carson will be taking nothing for granted at Albion, and has already commented that he does not expect to automatically take the number one spot.

The Keeper has become Mowbray's seventh summer signing, having already agreed deals for last season's loan deals Roman Bednar, Luke Moore and Kim Do-Heon, and capturing also Gianni Zuiverloon, Graham Dorrans and Marek Cech.
