Steele a steal for Tykes

West Bromwich Albion reserve keeper Luke Steele is set to complete his transfer to Barnsley by the middle of June it has been revealed today. Steele enjoyed a successful loan spell with the Yorkshire club in the latter part of last season, including FA Cup appearances against Premiership sides Chelsea and Liverpool.

Barnlsey look set to secure the signature of the goalkeeper on a free transfer from Albion, in a deal which is expected to complete on 21st June.

Tykes manager Simon Davey was impressed with Steele who was also an important part of the side that survived the Championship by the skin of its teeth.

Davey confirmed that a deal has been arranged and personal terms agreed that will keep Steele at Oakwell for next season on a permanent basis.
