Team to pay tribute to Teixeira
By Jemma Tappenden May 4 2008
Team mates of the injured Andrade Filipe Teixeira will pay an emotional tribute to him this afternoon at QPR to show their appreciation to the vital role he played in Albion's promotion before picking up the crushing injury which kept him sidelined for the rest of the campaign.

Teixeira, one of Mowbray's summer signings from last year made an instant impact in the middle of the field for the Baggies, which quickly gained him the respect of fellow team mates and fans alike.

But the Portuguese star suffered a devestating blow in March during Albion's 3-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle, when he suffered cruciate knee ligament damage which prematurely ended his season.

Team mate and former captain Paul Robinson led the campaign to pay respect to Teixeira by revealing a T-shirt to Sky TV cameras after Monday's 1-1 draw with Southampton displaying the slogan "That's for you Filipe" after the point sealed promotion for the Baggies.

Robbo believes that losing the influential midfielder came as a crushing blow to Mowbray's men who at the time believed his injury to be not so serious.  Robinson and team mates hope to lift the Championship trophy as a tribute to Teixeira this afternoon.

In an extra touch the squad will appear on the pitch for their pre match warm up wearing specially printed T-shits bearing the players name and squad number 20.
