Gera up for Player of the Month

Gera
By Jemma Tappenden May 2 2008
It could be a double celebration this week for West Brom midfielder Zoltan Gera, after being nominated for April's Powerade Player of the Month award. Gera amongst other team mates at the Hawthorns have been busy celebrating promotion to the Premier League, sealed after Monday's 1-1 draw with division strugglers Southampton.

But Gera will hope to make that a double celebration by picking up the award for Championship player of the month.

The 29 year old midfielder, who fans hope will stay at Albion now they have returned to the Premiership, faces competition from Sheffield United's James Beattie, Hull City's Ian Ashbee and Stoke City's Glenn Whelan.

Gera has neeted important goals in April, which saw Albion pick up vital points at Wolves and Norwich City.
