Clement hopes to make in 300 not out for Baggies
By Jemma Tappenden April 25 2008
What a difference a month makes. Almost a month to the the day he returned from on loan duty at Hull City, defender Neil Clement looks set to break a landmark with the Baggies by completing his 300th appearance for the club next weekend versus Queens Park rangers. Yet just two months ago Clemo was unsure if he had any future at the Hawthorns whatsoever.

A late loan signing for Hull City, for whom Clement was instrumental in the recent promotion push which has seen the Tigers climb to third in the Championship, was cut short after just 28 days when mounting injuries forced Tony Mowbray to recall him.

Just weeks later Clement was playing at Wembley for the Baggies, with memories of his brief time at Hull pushed well into the distance.  And now Clement looks set to complete his 300th appearance for Albion in the final weekend of the season at QPR.

It will be a week of emotion for the defender if this does indeed prove to be the case.  Clement may well be a Premiership player by that point, with the Baggies able to win promotion this weekend without even kicking a ball if other results go their way.

To add to the emotion Clemo's 300th appearance will be at Loftus Road, the home of the club where his father is still highly regarded as one of the best London footballers of all time, making 405 appearances for QPR before his tragic death in 1982.
