Beattie returns to Preston onloan
By Jemma Tappenden April 22 2008
West Bromwich Albion striker has rejoined Preston North End on loan after recovering from the hamstring injury which has kept him side lined. Beattie has not featured for Preston since making his debut six weeks ago in their fixture against Leicester City. The Scottish striker managed just 37 minutes of play before being withdrawn through injury.

The striker immediately returned to the Hawthorns for treatment, fully expecting to miss the rest of the season with a torn hamstring.

But Beattie has returned north this week and is fully expected to feature in both of Preston's remaining two fixtures after making a full recovery.

Beattie signed for West Brom last summer, but struggled to maintain any place in the starting 11 or final 16 after prolific partnerships were struck up between Phillips, Miller and Bednar.  Beattie's West Brom future looks uncertain, especially with an imminent promotion looming.
