Heads screwed on with three games to go
By Jemma Tappenden April 18 2008
It comes with past experience for Albion fans that nothing should ever be taken for granted. Nonetheless, things are looking good, and it must be difficult to not let the moment run away with you for just a split second. Two points clear at the top of the Championship table after a midweek victory at Wolves has left the Baggies in poll position for promotion with just three games left to play.

Victory this weekend away at Norwich City, accompanied by the right set of results elsewhere could see the Baggies promoted live on television at their last fixture at the Hawthorns on Monday 28th April versus Southampton.  One of those key results will be that between Stoke City and Bristol City this Saturday.

But nobody at the Hawthorns is counting their chickens just yet.  Despite the prosperous outlook it is also possible for the Baggies to still miss out on the automatic promotion spots altogether and have to settle for the play off lottery.  But maybe the time to dare to dream has arrived, and Tony Mowbray has certainly had to start thinking about the outcome with regards to this summers transfer funds.

Mowbray it is believed has already drawn up a list of summer targets should his side be successful in winning promotion to the Premiership in the next couple of weeks.  He believes that the ethos at the club finely intertwined with the style of play he has adopted will attract players to the Hawthorns regardless of their league status next season.

But of their current league position he insists his players have still firmly got their heads screwed on and that nobody is taking anything for granted.  But victory at Carrow Road this weekend might certainly allow a certain amount of excitement to set in.
