Gordon Gilbert
By Methil Milan Man
September 16 2002
A vocal East Fife support made the long journey to Elgin on Saturday and watched their team maintain their unbeaten league record with a 1-1 draw. Gordon Gilbert netted for the visitors just after half-time only for Elgin to equalise after the hour mark...
East Fife's best chance in the first half fell to James Herkes who took the ball wide past the keeper and defence but couldn't scramble the ball on target as the City defenders raced back to their goal line. In the second half, Kenny Deuachar did really well powering past the Elgin defence only to hit a weak shot directly at Pirie in goals.

All things condsidered a draw was probably a fair result.

An Elgin fan commented to me that East Fife are by far the most impressive team to play Elgin this season. This was good to hear as we are not exactly 'firing on all cylinders' at the moment - surely a promising sign !!
