The Spireite's completed their pre-season build up with a 3-0 win over Burton Albion. Ian Evatt and a Mark DeBolla brace got the goals for the Spireites in a five minute spell. This effectively killed off the game and left the Spireites with some breathing space to try out younger players.

The Spireite's completed their pre-season build up with a 3-0 win over Burton Albion. Ian Evatt and a Mark DeBolla brace got the goals for the Spireites in a five minute spell. This effectively killed off the game and left the Spireites with some breathing space to try out younger players.
This pre-season has been a mixed one for the Spireites, with convincing wins over Matlock, Bolton and Burton; yet a 5-1 capitulation at the hands of Derby was a worry, especially given the manner of many of the goals. However, this is an improvement on last pre-season where we failed to win a single game!
Confidence is high, but with mid-table being set as a minimum requirement next year, the strikers will need to be firing on all cylinders. Pleasingly, pre-season has been most-promising for young striker Mark DeBolla, who has notched up three goals. Close behind is defender Ian Evatt on two, with his partner Steve Blatherwick on one. Tcham N'Toya and trialist Aaron Downes have also been on target for the Spireites.
My Burton prediction of 3-0 was correct, so hopefully my prediction for the Spireites next season will be.
My prediction: 10th place
