Tottenham need 3 players to be able to challenge the top 3. I say top 3 because Liverpool are some way behind the top 3 in terms of personel. This is reflected in Liverpool's league position. The number one priority for Tottenham must be a top class goalkeeper..

It is quite simply impossible to challenge for a league without a top goalie. Manchester United's signing of Van Der Sar has been very significant in their improved league success over the last 2 seasons. Before him they struggled with goalies. Tottenham probably need two.

In Berbatov ,Keane and Defoe Spurs have 3 top quality strikers, so this is not a department tthat really needs attention. The defence of cause needs attention as does the midfield where a pacy creative player to play on the wings  is needed.

The midfielder is likely to be the hardest to find, creative midfielder are a rare breed. It is something Liverpool have not managed successfully.

If the whole budget was spent on a goalkeeper like Peter Cech or Van Der Sar a top 3 place would still be possible.

I guess the defence is sorted mate. we'll see about the keeper and a commanding midfielder though.
