Mark Wright told the Chester Evening Leader:
Wright said: “The news is a disgrace. Jon Brady left us to work in schools within Northamptonshire for Arsenal.
“Our club chairman, Stephen Vaughan, myself and Jon Brady had a man-to-man verbal agreement that the player wouldn’t go to another Conference side.
“I can’t tell you why he’s gone and joined a side who are contenders for the Conference, but it’s wrong.
“He’s well out of line. but we can’t do a thing about it.
“We allowed to let him go in a bid to cut our wage bill, but his departure hasn’t weakened our squad.
“We’ve brought Carl Regan in from Hull City to train with us and I’m hoping we can sort something out.”
Stevenage Manger Graham Westley said:
“Jon has agreed a deal until the end of next season. I think that he will bring a consistency to our wing play.
“He is a good athlete and a great crosser of the ball who should help us to improve our goals scored column.”
